Founded in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bánh By Lauren began as a passion project by husband and wife team, and grew into a beloved NYC bakery known for its thoughtful, modern approach to desserts. 

Drawing from Bánh By Lauren’s fusion of Southeast Asia Flavors and classic French pastry techniques, the design translates this duality into a space that feels refined yet approachable. Subtle Asian-inspired details are layered within a clean architectural framework that supports daily bakery operations, quick coffee pickups, and longer moments of gathering.

Creating a permanent home for the beloved Bánh By Lauren Vietnamese-French bakery — transforming from pop-up to brick-and-mortar

The brand's signature forest green is used to frame the façade, wrapping the base of the building to form a continuous datum that anchors the bakery at its corner location

Large windows maximize transparency and daylight, allowing views deep into the interior and turning the daily activity of the bakery into part of the neighborhood experience

A long, linear counter organizes the narrow footprint, creating an intuitive circulation path while placing the pastry display and open kitchen at the heart of the space

An L-shaped oak banquette with integrated storage defines the corner, creating an intimate seating area within a compact footprint and framing views to the street
